Mobile Devices That Can Be Used For Learning English

I am sure people nowadays are familiar with term “mobile devices”. As far as I know, mobile devices are tools related to technology that can be brought easily without being afraid we will find difficulty in bring it. Those mobile devices such as mobile-phone and notebook (or familiar with name “laptop”). Since the technology is developing, now we know mobile devices such as smartphone and a kind of computer that only need the screen to be touched when we use it that famous with name “tablet”. That mobile devices not only can be used for communicating, but also can be used for learning English.

How mobile devices can be used for learning English? Here I give you a brief explanation about it.

1.    Laptop

Laptop is a kind of computer that can be brought easily. It has battery, so we not always use the electricity when we use it. Maybe we just need the electricity to charge the battery of laptop (unless the battery of the laptop is broken, so its need the electricity to on).

Some time ago, maybe laptop is a kind of luxury thing, but nowadays every person can get and buy the laptop easily. Many laptop are sold with the affordable price.

Laptop can be installed by many programs, games, or software. As we know, there are many software that provide material for learning English. Of course, that software can be installed into laptop. Through laptop, we can open the software for learning English. Cambridge Advanced Learner’s Dictionary is an example of software for learning English that can be installed and opened in laptop.  Through Cambridge Learner’s Dictionary, we can know the definition of a word in English. We also can know the pronunciation of a word in English British and English US.

Not only learning English by using programs or software that is installed in laptop, but we also can learn English by opening programs-programs that are exist in laptop. Most of programs that are exist in laptop are using English as the language. By opening the programs, indirectly we can enrich our vocabulary through the programs.

3.    Smartphone

Smartphone is a kind of development from mobile-phone. What makes smartphone different from mobile-phone? We can say that smartphone is more sophisticated than mobile-phone. Smartphone not only can be used for telephoning and sending message, but also can be used for installing many interesting application and easier to be connected to the internet. There are many application that can be installed to smartphone, included application for learning English. For example, LearnEnglishGrammar (UK ed.). By the existence of that application in the smartphone, we can learn about English grammar easily, only by holding our smartphone.

4.    Tablet

It is the newest innovation of mobile devices. It can work like laptop, but is is more practical to be brought than a laptop. Tablet that are exist in Indonesia has touchscreen, it has no any keypad. We only need to touch the screen if we want to operate it. Sometimes it is as practical as mobile-phone or smartphone. Usually, many people use it for playing game or surfing in internet.

Actually, tablet not only can be used for playing game or surfing in internet, it also can be used for learning English, just like laptop or smartphone. Sometimes, learning English through a tablet is more fun than learning English through laptop or smartphone. It is because a tablet usually has a wider screen than smartphone and a system that about the same with laptop. The application that usually can be installed in a tablet about the same with the application that can be installed in a smartphone.

Those are the examples of mobile devices that can be used for learning English. It is better for us not only use mobile devices for associate with our friend, but also use our mobile devices for learning.
